Meet Natalie, owner of Anagen Hair & Scalp Institute
1. Tell us a little bit about your company – what is Anagen Hair and Scalp Institute all about?
Anagen is a Korean based scalp treatment. Our goal is to create a healthy environment to promote good scalp health and boost hair growth. We believe that true hair health starts at the root. By combining cutting-edge science with luxurious, personalized treatments, we empower individuals to achieve healthy scalps, hair growth, and renewed confidence.
With a molecular approach to scalp care, we address conditions like dandruff, eczema, psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis; offering solutions that are both effective and indulgent. We cater to all individuals, including those struggling with hormonal imbalances, reactional or sudden hair loss, and atopic skin conditions.
2. Why did you choose Burlington Downtown to open your new location?
Spencer Smith Park and the water views are unmatched, truly breath taking, it stole my heart immediately!
3. What downtown businesses do you frequent and do business with?
Benchmark, Buvette, Heal, Pearle Hotel, Charlene Photography Studio, Nurse Christine, Queen Luxury Nails, Centro, Radius, Lena’s, Nisi, Raw, No. 8, The Poacher, Martini House, BMO, Tamp Coffee.
4. What are the top three things that you wish people knew about scalp health and maintenance?
Washing daily is essential to good hygiene. Oiling your scalp leads to long term issues of inflammation and poor follicle health. Airdrying leads to irritation and possible yeast infection – use a hair dryer.
5. You’re a busy lady, raising your son, starting a new business … but coming from a family of entrepreneurs, this probably hasn’t fazed you! What’s your secret to getting everything accomplished in a day? (It’s getting up at 4 am isn’t it?)
We all have the same 24 hours in a day, but how you choose to use them determines the outcome. Yes, I am up at 4 a.m., because I am excited and grateful to be able to do what I am doing. Provide people with relief and restore confidence.
I believe in strong routines and schedules. Just because I am tired, I still know to stick to the schedule, and I will thank myself later. Discipline is not something you have, it is something you build.
6. If you could style anyone’s hair, from any period in time, famous or infamous, who would it be and why?
Elvis Presley, because the amount of product used in that man’s hair was intense… I can only imagine what that scalp must have looked like! Or Jimi Hendrix, again, I bet he needed a really, good cleanse!
