Fall Décor Ideas
Written By Guest Blogger Anneliese Lawton
As soon as the calendar strikes September 1st, pumpkin spice is sprinkled on literally everything – coffee, donuts, Mac n’ Cheese (we’re serious) …and yes, even your homes. There’s something cozy about pulling out the warm knit throws, the oversized porch welcome signs, and the crisp fall candles. The stores of Downtown Burlington are doing just the same – pulling out colourful, cozy, and comfortable fall décor.
We’ve rounded up what’s new, what’s in trend, and what you NEED to add to your collection.
Say It with A Sign
Feeling #blessed? You should tell people. Little Pop-Up Shoppe has a large selection of handmade rustic signs by Into the Woods Home Décor that will perfectly scream your love of autumn. While Off the Wall Designz crafts beautiful fall wreaths that make a thankful statement on your front door. Inside Out Home Décor has welcoming front mats and also makes beautiful boxwood wreaths.

Simply Gourd-geous
Let the pumpkin spam begin. What is fall décor if not for gourds? Handmade House on Pearl Street has adorable handmade felt pumpkins by Needles in Motion (great to have if you have grabby fingers in your home) and wooden pumpkins by Frank’s Wood Crafts. Little Pop Up Shoppe also has adorable hand-knit pumpkins by Sage and Spindle (with cute cork stems) in a bunch of different sizes and colours – and they stack! Looking for the real deal? Check out Centro Garden. They have a huge supply of pumpkins and gourds in trendy and white to witchy and warty.
Urn’t You Pretty
Fall mums are a sure sign that the season has arrived – and Centro Garden has a beautiful selection of mums and autumn planters available. Line your porch in a Pinterest-worthy setup with mums of different sizes. Or, select a large fall planter with grass, flowers, and greenery to make a bold statement. Visit Centro’s outdoor garden for a full selection of fall urns and flowers – or gather up some goodies while you’re there to make your own.

Smells Like Fall Spirit
Are you more pumpkin spice and everything nice? Or do you prefer the scent of a crisp autumn day? Handmade House has a scrumptious Spiced Honey Candle by Lefeu Chandelles – it packs a scent perfect for a fall day. Little Pop Up Shoppe also has a great selection of candles and diffusers and Pure Boutique has 3 signature candle scents for the season “hello fall”, “sweater weather”, and “warm + cozy”.

Sip-Sip Hooray
No seasonal décor is complete without a seasonal mug. Head on over to Pure Boutique for a Hello Fall mug (and grab a cozy throw while you’re at it) – or visit Centro Garden’s indoor shop for sandstone mugs you can transfer between seasons.
Full Makeover?
Interior designer, and owner of A Room in Mind, Keely Coles has some decorating tips. Keely says, “Warm colours and earth tones in fabrics, paint colours, and accessories” are perfect for fall. Adding, “We are bringing the outdoors in with nature inspired patterns in wallpaper, artwork, and soft finishes. Warm golds, iron, pewter, and gun metal completed a layered look and really bring a space together. As for large-scale design trends, Keely says rich coloured cabinetry and customer built-ins are big right now and extend to furniture and finishes. Anything to showcase individuality and personal style is encouraged!
