Transforming Commercial Areas in Burlington

The City is undertaking a Commercial Strategy Study through the Official Plan Review with the assistance of urbanMetrics inc. and The Planning Partnership. The study is intended to confirm the City’s commercial land use vision and to make sure that the commercial policies of the Official Plan address Strategic Plan directions.

The goal of the study is to ensure that commercial uses contribute to complete, walkable, and vibrant neighbourhoods that offer amenities and gathering places to support the needs of residents and workers.

As part of our strategy, we are gathering input. Share your ideas about the future of Burlington’s commercial areas through an online forum. Tell us what you think about small-scale businesses in our neighbourhoods or employment lands, community plazas, parking in shopping areas, transportation options, or auto-oriented land uses.

The online forum will be open from June 14 to July 5, 2013. Your input is valuable and will be used to guide policy directions.

For more information, visit the Commercial Study webpage.
