Downtown Burlington is a wonderful place to take your time and explore with children. It combines the aura and charm of a small town but the excitement and bustle of an urban centre.
- Park in Garage

- Crema Gelato
415 Locust Street – Directions
Enjoy natural artisan gelato, made daily by an European pastry chef. A can’t miss taste experience right across from the parking garage on your way to Spencer Smith Park.
- Boardwalk Stroll & Discovery Landing
Spencer Smith Park – Directions
The Discovery Landing park features a brand new incredible play structure and swing set that is an amazing playtime experience. Additionally the park features a water feature for the kids to cool down so bring a bathing suit or change of clothes! After that, pop into 3 Bills under the Discovery Landing and enjoy a hot dog and a coffee while watching the motorized boats in the pond.
- Art Gallery of Burlington
1333 Lakeshore Road – Directions
The Art Gallery is a wonderland of sights, smells and textures for children. Home of a variety of art forms including clay and sculptural arts as well as painting exhibits, the gallery also hosts a beautiful garden sun room which they’ll love to explore while admiring the installation sculptures which inhabit the space. They also host FREE Sunday drop-ins in their art studio from 1-4pm.
- A Different Drummer Books
513 Locust Street – Directions
A favourite of kids, the Ian Elliot and staff at the Different Drummer have a wonderful selection of kids books within their unique space within the century home. Comfortable and to scale for the little ones, the kids really love to lay on the floor while listening to a reading by parents or staff or explore new titles on their own.
- The Works Burger Bistro
443 Brant Street – Directions
Finally zip across Brant Street toward City Hall and pop into the Works for dinner and an old school milkshake served in a mason jar. The family oriented restaurant is full of texture and sounds to captivate the kids and if the weather is right, the garage doors open at the front so that you can feel as though you are sitting right on the street.
