Public Skating

During the winter months, the Rotary Centennial Pond is an outdoor skating rink overlooking Spencer Smith Park and Lake Ontario. The skating rink usually opens the second weekend of December weather permitting. Park visitors can go for a leisurely skate or stop and rest awhile on one of the benches by the pond. If you have never been, please be sure to stop by! Please note that the pond is for leisure skating only. No hockey is permitted at any time.

Hours of Operation:  Everyday 10 a.m. –  10 p.m.
Rink Status and Maintenance:  Ice conditions can vary throughout the winter based on weather and maintenance occurs daily depending on snow fall. 

Don’t have skates? Not to worry. We have a skate lending program. Full details here.

Skate Lending Hours:
Weekday evenings: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Weekend and school holidays: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
