SUMMARY:Moon in June
DESCRIPTION:For 36 years the MiJ has supported local charities. We are one of the longest standing\, truly charitable running events in Halton. Over our tenure we have donated over ONE MILLION DOLLARS to local charities. We are so pleased to bring you our 36th installment of the Moon in June\, Saturday evening June 7th\, 2025. \nAll monies from the Moon in June go directly to Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton (CAFH) to ensure that more children in Halton receive the timely help they need. The Moon in June has no paid staff\, all organization is done voluntarily. \nThe Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton (CAFH) is the only charity in the Region of Halton whose sole purpose is to provide support\, relief and opportunities for children\, youth and families involved in the child welfare system! \nAs the charitable arm of the Halton Children’s Aid Society (Halton CAS)\, CAFH works to provide resources and advocacy for those who have experienced abuse\, neglect\, loss\, unstable housing or other difficult circumstances. Committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most\, CAFH offers opportunities for healing\, growth\, education and the chance to create happy childhood memories. \nThe programs supported by CAFH are additional to the basic protection work funded by the provincial government. These programs are not completely funded by the government; therefore\, donations from the Moon in June are relied upon to sustain the vital\, additional resources provided to these at-risk children in our community. \nThank you for believing in the work we do! \nThe Moon in June event has many layers\, including our Rocca Sisters KidFest\, the Movati Meredith’s 1k kids run\, MNP 5k walk and run\, 10k run and post race party with live entertainment and refreshments.  The run course is a flat fast one loop certified 5k and 2 loop certified 10km of downtown Burlington. The route highlights the fabulous Burlington Waterfront and downtown core. \n  \nKidsFest 4pm – 7pm \nMeredith’s 1k – 6:30 pm \nGordon’s Great K – 6:45 \n5k Walk\, Run & 10k run – 7:30pm
