Since the onset of the COVID19 pandemic the nature of working life has been in constant flux. Everyone has had to adjust the ways in which we navigate our lives, and how we balance workplace responsibilities and family demands. The stress and anxiety of these unprecedented times has taken a toll on our mental health and wellbeing, and these changes impact every aspect of our lives including at the workplace.

As business owners and employers, it is important to ask yourselves: do I know how my employees are doing right now? Am I prepared to talk about mental health and how it is impacting my workplace? And, if someone were to disclose a serious mental health concern, do I know what to do?

Peachey Counselling and Family Support is thrilled to offer a presentation about Mental Health in the Workplace to BDBA members. The goal of this presentation is to help you, as a business owner, to manage mental health in your workplace, understand why employee mental health matters and offer some insights as to how to approach these issues in the workplace. Employee wellness and mental health are crisis, and you have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives and contribute to shifting workplace culture allowing for mental health to become an integral part of getting back to business in this “new normal”.

Their newest program Healthy@Work offers a multi-stage process of discovery, assessment and intervention that is unique to your workplace if you feel that you are in need of more support.

Members of their Healthy @ Work team, Chris Martin BA, BSc, MACP and Kate Brockbank BSW, MSW, RSW will be facilitating this presentation and are happy to offer the first stage of the program, the discovery session, to BDBA members for Free! This presentation will draw on examples of how mental health impacts the workplace environment, and outline strategies on how to approach issues such as stress, burnout, anxiety, substance misuse, managing work/life demands with your employees in a way that is person-centered, compassionate, respectful and professional.

We hope that we are able to help you build a healthier workplace for your valuable employees.
