Registration NOW FREE workshop series for BDBA members & their staff The goal of these workshops is to address numerous asks from our Members to help them build their equity, inclusion, and anti-racism capacity. These workshops are designed to create a safe space for BDBA business owners and their staff to have the conversations around race and equity, and to ask those burning questions that will help move you forward in your own understanding. Each session will include a blend of education, practical application, and a Q&A space for participants to learn and ask questions. We encourage you to signup for all five workshops, but it is not mandatory to attend all sessions – each workshop will provide independent learnings. Session 1: Anti-Racism 101 Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021, 8:15am-9:45am A beginner session to build a baseline understanding of issues and concepts pertaining to racism, anti-Black racism, equity, and inclusion. Session 2: Understanding Unconscious Bias Tuesday, April 20th, 2021, 8:15am-9:45am Learn about key concepts in Unconscious Bias and how this affects customer experiences Session 3: Building Cultural Competence Tuesday, May 18th, 2021, 8:15am-9:45am How to cultivate and grow key cultural competencies to better serve your staff and customers. Session 4: Check Your Privilege Tuesday, June 15th, 2021, 8:15am-9:45am Deepen your awareness of social location and how your power and privilege play a role in how you advance in society. Session 5: Allyship in Action Tuesday, July 13th, 2021, 8:15am-9:45am Understand what true Allyship looks like, requires, and how to work in solidarity with racialized communities.
