Instructor Melinda Walker from 7th Wave Yoga on Brant
Class: Slow Flow Vinyasa
This class is suitable for all levels. It is a flowing class which uses the breath to help move the body, bringing mindfulness, sense of calm, and flexibility to the body while increasing strength and firing up the metabolism.
Melinda Walker is the owner of the recently launched 7th Wave Yoga on Brant. Melinda started taking yoga 10 years ago after an illness and traumatic injury left her weak, in pain and anxious. Wanting to get stronger and healthier, but not knowing where to turn, a friend took her to a yoga class. Melinda further developed her yoga practice in Mexico with her mentors, before deciding to take her Yoga teacher training here in Burlington. Melinda was so amazed by Yoga’s health benefits, as well as strength building and sense of calm. Melinda continued her studies and at the advice of her mentors started specializing in teaching and becoming certified in Yoga for Trauma, teens and PTSD in addition to teaching Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga as well as beach and SUP Yoga. Through this, Melinda discovered her true passion to teach was so strong, she dreamed of creating a comfortable, safe community space here in downtown Burlington. Melinda left her stressful commute to Toronto, and demanding corporate 25 year career and opened 7th Wave Yoga on Brant on May 28, 2017 and hasn’t looked back.
