Class: Yoga-lates by Anna Ellis from Burlington Physiotherapy & Health Clinic Ltd.
Yoga-lates is a class that combines the two practices of yoga and pilates. Since both practices emphasize mindful movement married with conscious breath, the classes are guaranteed to provide a full body workout that also calms the mind. The fusion of these two proven and effective exercise practices combine the classical mat work of pilates with the postures of yoga. This allows time for mindfulness, stretching, and breath work along with controlled exercises that will be sure to break a sweat.
Bio: Anna’s health and wellness journey started from a young age as an avid swimmer and basketball player. This passion for movement and wellness grew with Anna into a career as a Yoga and Pilates instructor. Anna studied Health, Wellness and Fitness at Mohawk College, graduating with an honours diploma in 2016. In 2017, Anna decided to go to Costa Rica and become a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor. Anna has been teaching Yoga ever since. After a car accident, Anna was left with daily back pain, and sought help via Pilates. After a few months of regular one-on-one and group training classes, the benefits of Pilates were so clear that Anna wanted to share that with others and became STOTT trained in Mat and Reformer. Anna acknowledges the importance of the mind-body connection and has a passion helping others find their strength through movement.
Anna also works as a holistic nutritionist, where she inspires and provides tools for her clients to live their best life through multiple holistic interventions. With a focus on women’s health, hormonal healing and the importance of the mind-body connection, Anna has helped many people achieve their goals.
