SUMMARY:Mom’s Night Out | Tea & International Treats Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy treats with an international twist this Mother’s Day! Join Katie Cyr of Monarch Tea Co. and Diane Bentivegna of Mrs. B’s Gifthouse as we explore the world of tea and dessert pairings. Inspired by the special exhibit “eat make share: a taste of immigration” from Pier 21\, the evening will feature three teas paired with three internationally inspired treats from Mrs. B’s – a biscotti\, meringue\, and macaroon. Guests will have the opportunity to view the special exhibit an hour prior to the tea tasting workshop. A tea cocktail and mini scones from COBS will be served during the first hour. \nTickets are $55/person\, age 19+ ($50/members) and include a 1-hour workshop with 3 tea and treat pairings\, a signature tea cocktail\, a mini scone from COBS and admission to the Museum galleries.\nDoors open at 6pm\, and the workshop begins at 7pm. Guests can view the Museum galleries before or after the workshop. DESCRIPTION:Women have made significant contributions to STEM (science\, technology\, engineering\, math) but their stories are often untold. This special exhibition shares some of these stories and provides recognition for the crucial role of women in STEM. Through text and images\, the display tells the stories of historical and contemporary Women in STEM\, their scientific contributions as well as their challenges in the face of persistent systemic barriers. Iron Willed: Women in STEM is a travelling an exhibition developed by Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation on view at Joseph Brant Museum from October 4 – March 29\, 2026.
