A message from Burlington Mayor Rick Goldring:

“The arts have the power to change the way we think about things and the way we live our lives. Creativity can elevate the quality of our personal lives, the capacity of our community and the strength of our economy. The vision is clear: with the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, Burlington will harness the power of the arts to transform lives and advance our community like never before.

Scheduled to open in Fall 2011, the Burlington Performing Arts Centre will be an accessible venue that will inspire thousands more to participate in the arts. By providing a key venue for the arts, Burlington will become a creative city, a place that incubates imagination and attracts creative minds to come and live here.

The innovative and flexible design of this LEED-certified building, coupled with its many state of the art features, means that we will have a performance venue like no other as well as a new community facility to host receptions, exhibitions, and accommodate large city events. This landmark building is within walking distance to the beautiful waterfront and superb dining and shopping and will be an integral component of a thriving cultural and entertainment district.

The arts are thriving in Burlington. Today there are more than 60 commercial and community groups that provide arts experiences to thousands of participants and tens of thousands of patrons. With the opening of the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, not only will these groups now have access to a facility where they can showcase their talent right here in Burlington, but residents will have the opportunity of attending world-class performances right in our own backyard.

Burlington is an engaged community and the fundraising support for this project has been tremendous. While our goals are within reach, I invite you to consider how you would like to be involved in this exciting project and to contact us to discuss your financial commitment.

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre belongs to us all and will benefit us all. With your support our future stars now have a theatre to proudly call home.”
