Bright Nights are Coming to Burlington Downtown

Downtown Burlington is illuminating the streets, the season and spirits with Bright Nights, presented by Lisa-Marie Winning, Winning & Associates, IG Private Wealth Management

BURLINGTON, ON – December 4, 2020 – The streets and businesses of Burlington’s downtown core just got a whole lot brighter.  Starting December 4th and running through January 2021, downtown Burlington will be illuminated by impressive new light installations designed to create a magical experience within the downtown business area.  While the holidays may look and feel a little different this year, it’s still a time to celebrate and enjoy the season safely with those we hold dear.  Bright Nights, presented by Lisa-Marie Winning, Winning & Associates, IG Private Wealth Management, is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

We are thrilled to be the Presenting Sponsor of this event,” says Lisa-Marie Winning, Winning & Associates, IG Private Wealth Management. “We hope Bright Nights gives our community a place to safely come and visit during the holidays.  A place to snap some pictures with your family, to create some magical moments and beautiful setting to enjoy while supporting our local shops and restaurants along the way.”

From City Hall and Civic Square, up and down Brant Street to the new Elgin Promenade, Village Square and the Lakeshore, Bright Nights has Burlington downtown covered in a spectacular display of festive, holiday lights. Residents and visitors are invited to stroll the streets, stopping to experience interactive displays like the new ‘singing tree,’ or capture the moment at one of the featured displays.  Local businesses were also encouraged to join the celebration by decorating their windows and storefronts.

“We know this past year has been challenging,” says Lisa Kearns, Ward 2 Councillor. “With ‘Bright Nights’, Burlington is shining a light on downtown by offering this ‘must visit’ experience. An exciting time to shop, dine, and enjoy all downtown has to offer – surrounded by interactive and illuminated displays. All are welcome to discover a downtown adorned with twinkling lights and dressed with seasonal greens! The boundless enthusiasm that inspired this celebration is what makes Burlington the best place to live – I am so excited to see our downtown filled with light and love. I would like to extend my gratitude to the sponsors, organizers and supporters of our local business community and wish you all the joys of the season.”

Bright Nights is the perfect complement to some of Burlington’s favourite holiday traditions like Lakeside Festival of Lights at Spencer Smith Park and the Festival of Trees at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre

Of course, all visitors are reminded to remain physically distanced while visiting and to bring along their holiday spirit and a mask should they wish to stop at one of Downtown Burlington’s local boutiques or restaurants. It truly is a magical time to visit Burlington to create new holiday memories and traditions with Bright Nights.

Bright Nights would not be possible without the incredible support of our sponsors:

About the Burlington Downtown Business Association (BDBA)

The organization is a not–for-profit association responsible for the vitalization and promotion of our vibrant Downtown business community. All property owners, and commercial tenants who pay a portion of the property tax, pay a special levy that funds the organization. These funds constitute the organization’s budget and allow the Board and their sub committees to execute programs and events with great volunteer support of the membership on behalf of all of the members within our boundaries.

The Association promotes our dense commercial area as a vibrant business and shopping district. Through the use of promotional activities such as special events, advertising, and beautification programs, we aim to keep the area foremost in the public’s mind as an attractive, pleasant place to shop, to be entertained, to work, and to live. We want to make the quality of life for our Downtown businesses and services better.
