Public Skating

During the winter months, the Rotary Centennial Pond is an outdoor skating rink overlooking Spencer Smith Park and Lake Ontario. The skating rink usually opens the second weekend of December weather permitting. Park visitors can go for a leisurely skate or stop and rest awhile on one of the benches by the pond. If you have never been, please be sure to stop by! Please note that the pond is for leisure skating only. No hockey is permitted at any time.

The Pond is open daily 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For an up-to-date information regarding the Pond ice conditions, please call 905-335-7738 ext 8587.

Holiday Skating Hours
Dec. 24, 2017, pond closed at 8 p.m.
Dec. 25, 2017, pond is closed

*Special Event Notice:

  • December 14th – Rotary Centennial Pond will be closed for public skating from 3-10 p.m. due to a special event
  • December 15th – Rotary Centennial Pond will be closed for public skating from 4-9 p.m. due to a special event with extended public skating from 9-11 p.m.
  • December 16th – Rain Date – If required, same schedule as outlined December 15

Skate Lending Hours:
Weekday evenings: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Weekend and school holidays: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
