I want to describe to you what my perfect Sunday looks like from the start of Spring right through until Thanksgiving. Lisa-Marie and I are extremely busy people managing two businesses at Investors Group and three children who are in every activity imaginable.
Sundays in Downtown Burlington can be as busy or as relaxing as we choose, which is why I think it’s such a great place to live and work. Lisa-Marie and I are Directors at the Burlington office of Investors Group and so we decided to become a sponsor of Fit in the Core and we are so happy that we did. Every Sunday, we would walk as a family down to City Hall and take part in the weekly workout that was being led by a local fitness instructor. I loved that lots of families were there taking part.
Following our workout, we would go to Centro for the weekly Farmers Market to buy all of our organic and local food for the week.
After the five of us strolled home lugging our groceries, it was a break for all of us from work, school, dance, hockey and lacrosse and we could just enjoy family time. After getting our food ready for the week, Lisa-Marie and I would head out for a run that would start in the streets near our house, continue along the path at Spencer Smith, down Lakeshore and back home.
Once the market closes after Thanksgiving and the days get colder we move to another tradition – NFL Football. As often as we can, we head over to Joe Dog’s for the absolute best nachos, wings and Caesars in town.
Even though I’ve live for most of my life in Burlington, the downtown core is an incredible place to be active, shop and have the best meals in the entire city.
